So, the Knicks won the NBA Championship. I don’t know if you heard. In my corner of Harlem, the reaction the the Knicks winning game four was louder than game five. But that might just be my neighborhood. Hell, the neighbors shot off fireworks after game four.
Anyway…
I’ve been watching the World Cup from my couch, and I pretty much won’t be moving from my living room for the next month. On the whole, I have been enjoying what has been happening.
The best match I have seen so far was Netherland v Japan’s 2-2 draw. I don’t think anyone is sitting around here thinking either one of these teams will win it all, but no one will doubt that these two teams came to compete and win.
Biggest surprise was Cabo Verde not just playing Spain to a draw, but not allowing Spain to score a goal. In the long run, I don’t think this changes Spain’s chances of winning the whole. But for Cabo Verde, those guys deserve a parade when they get home.
I just got done watching Egypt and Belgium, which was a fun match. I’m not sure what to expect from Egypt, but I do know that Belgium isn’t the same caliber team that they have fielded in the past. But like I said, it was a fun match.
Looking forward to tomorrow with France, Norway and Argentina playing. Fun’s just getting started.
