You Know What I Got?

Not a cold, nor a fever, or a feeling.

Nope.

I got jury duty!

And I’m okay with it. I do feel a responsibility to fulfill my civic duty as an American as well as a citizen of the state of New York. Also, I take this stuff seriously, because if I had to go to trial, I would want to believe that the people sitting on my jury at least took it serious enough to do the job correctly.

And I’m hoping to catch up on my reading. Maybe get a little writing done as well.

This is close to the fifth time I have been summoned since starting to live in New York. In that time, I have only served on one jury, but have been questioned numerous times by judges and lawyers. More importantly, have expelled hours of my time in the jury waiting room reading. So, if I set my mind to it, I can get a bunch of short stories read.

Furthermore, not sure what the rest of my week will be like. It might be normal, or I could be sitting on a jury. Who knows…

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
