Matthew Groff is an award-winning writer and theatre artist currently based in New York City. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Arlington (B.F.A Theatre Performance) where he was the first undergraduate in Department history to direct a full production for the Mainstage Season. After graduation, Matthew relocated to New York City, where he quickly found work as an actor, puppeteer and director. He also dabbled his toes in theatrical producing, and arts administration.
In the world of writing, Matthew received the Outstanding Achievement in Writing award from Sam Houston State University, and he co-founded and co-edited of the short lived literary magazine Third Story Presents. More recently, Matthew’s short stories has appeared in Rejection Letters, and The Bookends Review, while his literary criticism has appeared in Split Lip Magazine. Matthew was interviewed on the podcast Mommy Has Questions, discussing being a stay-at-home father.
Matthew is a husband, father, sketchbook enthusiast, and loyal companion to the family dog.
